Conservative Blog: Free Speech for all, except for Conservatives

  • Conservative Cat · 2 years ago
Ucon - this was a tight post!!! Thanks for bringing liberal idiocies to the forefront. It is such a double standard...no doubt.
  • jmodot · 2 years ago
You do realize that by saying you're not a big fan of free speech essentially means you are rejecting one of those freedoms that people have fought & died for... right?
  • mark · 2 years ago
there is one difference between the comments you posted and what Anne said....calling some one a faggot is hate speech.....the same as calling someone the n word....and like it or not "hate speech" is a crime now.
  • Ian Bartels · 2 years ago
Err Ron Paul never said "We had 9/11 coming to us because we were attacking Iraq." Did you even watch the GOP debates? He said that our interventionist foreign policy invites attacks. He didn't say that we deserved it. The CIA has said the exact same thing.

Let me show how ridiculous your logic is:

Detective: Aha! He killed her because she was cheating on him!
Moron: OH SO YOU'RE SAYING SHE HAD IT COMING TO HER?!

I'm not a liberal, more like an old (pre-Buckley) conservative.
  • Nick · 2 years ago
That woman has no class, I really don't see why people waste their time defending her. She is a one trick pony and that trick is being, put bluntly a jerk. She knows what she is getting into and she expects it, there is no need defending her, she is getting exactly what she wants.
  • CBake · 2 years ago
    John Edwards is a faggot
  • Kit · 2 years ago
BAD free speech is called hate speech, and that's double plus ungood.

Surely you don't expect to be allowed to say things that liberals call hate speech - anything a liberal disagrees with is hate speech and that's BAD.

Sit right down in the nice little chair with straps while we tell you what kind of free speech you're *allowed* to be in favor of !
  • Shey · 2 years ago
    great post!

The Coulter comments on Edwards being assassinated was so blatantly taken out of context and then broadcasted as truth. It's disgusting how the leftist media can twist anything they want and everyone just soaks it up. What's even worse is the hypocrisy of the left being able to say the EXACT SAME THING and not even get a slap on the wrist!
  • Ayatrollah · 2 years ago
What is it called when a gay guy calls another gay guy a faggot? I hear it all the time in SF.
  • James · 2 years ago
calling some one a faggot is hate speech.....and like it or not "hate speech" is a crime now.

"hate" crimes are nothing less than the ability for a jury to convict you based on your 'thought processes'.

Funny how "ni**er" isn't "hate speech" when it's uttered by a black person, yet when I say it you cry foul.

Think the liberals love your freedoms, perk up and see how many want to equate talk radio with hate speech to OUTLAW it. Violation of the 1st Amendment anyone?
  • superpuppie · 2 years ago
Every idiot has the right to free speech no matter how stupid they are......even you
  • Eric · 2 years ago
You're right, some people do make idiots out of themselves when they open their mouths.
  • Maxtrumental · 2 years ago
I'm not sure exactly what you are getting at in this post.

No one has prevented Anne Coulter from continuing to exersize her right to free speech. They have simply criticized her ideas and her methods of conveying them. The right to free speech certainly is not designed to exempt one from the burden of criticism.

Also, some of the quotes that you used as examples of liberal exemption were at least as severely attacked as some of the things that Coulter has said. For example: John Kerry paid dearly with political capital, time, and PR energy for what was considered an offensive comment on education and the troops.

What is particularly interesting about Coulter is that her support base and her fiercest critics are so eager to hear the next inflammatory comment and divisive sound bite that the more she is criticized and lashed out at, the more attention she gets and the more money she makes. Candidates are not so lucky as pundits in this respect. Nor are pundits that base their career on solid political analysis so lucky as she, since she makes her money off of shock value while adhering to a very easily followed extremist party line.

Whew! Anyhow, thanks for posting, and allowing me to reply.
  • Eric · 2 years ago
You're right, some people do make idiots out of themselves when they open their mouths.

Are you seriously against the "media's" freedom of speech?
  • Urban Conservative · 2 years ago
Maxtrumental - The point is that it's a double standard; while Anne Coulter continues to be crucified for her comments, some of the other outrageous and hateful comments made by liberals were simply ignored.

Eric - Please read the last paragraph in the original post…I’m not against free speech at all.
  • Ian Bartels · 2 years ago
Liberals DO hate capitalism, so do the neoconservatives.
  • Jon Quate · 2 years ago
I wonder how you can talk about free speech without free thought? Your blog is simply a Rush Limbaugh clone. You offer nothing original, only dittoes of Limbaugh. You don't bother to check facts or find out if any of your used quotes are true or not, and make things up to fit your ideology. And please get over the "liberal media" nonsense. It makes you appear very un-informed.
  • Mark · 2 years ago
OK, if i call someone a nigger or a faggot I am guilty of a hate crime? So how do I explain my criminal conviction of this alleged hate crime as a gay black man?

Wait, I understand it now. I can not be charged with a hate crime if I am gay and black. However, if I am straight and white I have committed a felony.

    This is wonderful news!
  • Urban Conservative · 2 years ago
wow..or whatever the hell your name is...I already explained to Maxtrumental that my point is that it's a double standard; while Anne Coulter continues to be crucified for her comments, some of the other outrageous and hateful comments made by liberals were simply ignored.

And yes, LIBERALS do hate capitalism..i can point to SEVERAL sources and news articles that support this.

Do you agree or disagree with this?
  • Urban Conservative · 2 years ago
"Your real gripe has nothing to do with the first amendment, and everything to do with the typical conservative "victim complex"

TRUE - it really has nothing to do with the first amendment but the title was pretty cool, huh?

Back to my earlier comment - it's the double standard that pisses me off.
  • Msatty · 2 years ago
Regarding "hate speech" and "Hate crimes," the very idea is troubling. The fundamental purpose of the law is to restrain evil. In so doing, it can only address action. Our judicial system can only continue to function in a right and healthy way as it addresses the actions of criminals. The thought or motives behind a crime are inconsequential when determining guilt or pronouncing justice. The notion of classifying something as "hate speech" or a "hate crime" is simply a way for the liberals to worm their way into the position of "thought police." Their quest for power will not end until we are submitted to their political correctness.
  • karl · 2 years ago
i agree the right has never said anything stupid or offensive ever.

and john edwards must be gay cuz he got a expensive hair cut and his wife has cancer.

what a fucking gay asslicking fagggot homosexual piece of feltched shit
  • mark · 2 years ago
You cannot be educated and be conservative. Being conservative in essence means your mind is closed, unable to embrace new knowledge unless it has first been chewed, digested and excreted by another conservative. You cannot put yourself in other people's shoes. Basically you lack much of what it takes to be a human being.
  • Mario · 2 years ago
    Cracker Jack Liberal!!!!!

    HAHAHA..LMAO

Mark - you are silly idiot for the comment you just made.

Hey man, good job. it is a double standard and it needs to be attacked and talked about good job on bringing up the real issue here in america.
  • Dawn · 2 years ago
I love it when someone exposes liberal hypocrisy, and there are oh so many of them, but the double standard that liberals have with free speech, in particular, is one of my favorites. Good Job!
  • Matt · 2 years ago
GREAT POST. Good findings, and I am thinking about posting a post about that liberal kid, so uneducated, typical liberal behavior, resort to name calling. I still can't believe he called her a "meaniehead". What self respecting human puts a video online showing their vocabulary is that of a 4 year old? Anyways, yes, I hope you don't mind if I use some of those quotes in a blog post of my own. Also, I can't figure out what (plugin, or just code?) that you use for the bookmarks? That is the best one I have ever seen, I would appreciate it if you could point me to/give me the code for it, it is brilliant! Thanks once again.

Yeah I just wanted to point out that scrutinizing the government and holding officials accountable is what free speech was meant for. Calling somebody a "faggot" falls into the category of what you were talking about before. About people who open their mouths sounding like idiots.
  • Bren · 2 years ago
I doubt anyone has a problem with what Ann Coulter said about John Edwards, It's more to do with what she said about gay people. Implying that someone is less worthwhile because of an arbitrary personal trait isn't free speech, it's prejudice.
  • heywood · 2 years ago
Paying $400 for a haircut is pretty faggy. Coulter was just telling the truth.
  • PG · 2 years ago
    Great post!
I second that heywood, $400 is a bit much. I pay $15, but I guess I don't need a fancy haircut to look good.

Mark: Talk about narrow mindedness, not to mention extremely assuming. It must be merely a coincidence (according to your UNeducated post) that every conservative I know (and I know plenty) just happens to be educated. The stupidity of your comment does not help your position. It is you who is deaf to reason. But anyway...
Totally agree with you Urban Conservative! According to the media, anything WE say is offensive while the liberals are praised for "speaking out". www.butterscotchweb.co.nr

It's always great to find another conservative blog on the net :). I am trying to make a conservative digg alternative called GOP Hub (GOPHub.com). Anything you can do to help with this effort would be awesome. Plus feel free to submit any articles your write here on your blog :). Take care!
  • ozmoda · 2 years ago
A great post. Double standard? Is that accurate enough a term to describe how uneven the scales are in so-called "unbiased reporting"? Ann Coulter can be a bit vitriolic, but damn, it's good that another from our side has the balls to say it like it is. (I am in no way implying that Ms. Coulter has balls, but she's got grit!)
  • Barbara (Xerraire) · 2 years ago
I have also blogged recently how free speech is only for the liberal elite.
And yes, I know what you mean. If by some cosmic force, the only free speech could be TRUE speech!

Ah, I don't know what was more entertaining; the article or the comments.

I'm still getting used to your generalizations. To help me with this, I'm going to generalize a couple things.

Rosie O'Donnel is not a liberal. She's not a conservative either. She is a big fat slobbering pig who needs to get cancer now. I'm so sick of her tauting her imperialistic bullshit. She's a racist, and doesn't deserve the media outlets that she has.

Michael Moore. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a closet conservative and is laughing his honky-ass all the way to the bank. If you care about these issues so much, I shouldn't have to pay to hear you talk.

John Kerry. He and Bush have a similar problem of sounding like a retard when they open their mouth.

Janine Garofalo and all Hollywood actors and actresses have no right expressing their political opinion publicly. Period.

Hillary Clinton... Hillary Clinton... I'd vote for you if you'd just shut your damn mouth for once to listen to the rest of the country. Jebus, you went in front of a black audience on national TV on Marting Luther King Jr Day and said "this administration is running this country like a plantation, and you know what I'm talkin[g] [a]bout?!" Are you out of your fucking mind, Hillary? Just how is anyone in politics committing the actions of a slave-driver? Now that Strom is gone, who could even know WTF you even mean?

Al Gore needs his batteries replaced.

Cindy Sheehan, shut up. Seriously. Get off your damn pedestal already. We all know your son died in Iraq. Are you the only mother who's lost a son? No. Do we know? Yes. Do you need to keep repeating yourself like a broken record? No. Do you need to shut up? Yes.

Fat liberal kid on YouTube. Don't be such a damn weenie. Look, kid, posting a video of yourself on youtube is not going to change anything. Just look at the "Chocolate Rain" kid.

Sometimes I'm just embarrased to be a liberal.

We all have freedom of speech. It's awesome. But some people abuse it, and others use it to hurt people; while others still will do anything they can to sound like an imbecile.

Say what you want about a double standard, free speech. But the nigger/faggot line isn't drawn on party lines. It's drawn on race/sexual orientation lines. When I am called a racist for quoting Jamie Foxx stand-up, who's really the racist? Me, or the person offended that a white person likes a black person's stand-up?
  • Jaimie Lee · 2 years ago
    Mark,

You may be right. Maybe Conservatives aren't "educated". From what I have experienced, from elementary education all the way through higher education, Conservatives don't just ride along with the liberal propegandist education that public schools are trying to shove down their throats. They don't just tow the line that liberal educators are trying to force them to adhere to. I've had to endure the rude remarks about my President, my country and my military in the years I've been trying to study and draw conclusions for myself. So, if what you mean by "educated" is that they buy wholesale that which is spoon fed to them by educators in schools, then you are right, Conservatives are not educated. I would rather be a closed minded individual that have a mind so open that my brain falls out.

    Peace to you.
  • Urban Conservative · 2 years ago
LMAO on the Rosie comment!!! Gravee - you are a good dude. Thanks for not calling me a right-wing-extrmest-war-mongering-anti-everything-not-conservative-nazi-bush-loving conservative. I get that all the time!!!

    lol

This article definitely has some truth to it. As a conservative, I encounter this double standard far too often. Interesting blog, Urban Conservative. I just ran into it today. With the media leaning left-er all the time, making it seem like only a few nuts are Republicans, it's refreshing to know others share similar political views to me!
  • Urban Conservative · 2 years ago
Mustang - thanks for the comment!! Please come by more often!

i love it when u so called conservative people get all worked up when one of your "elite' comes up with a crafty new slogan like..."fagot"..or..."cut n runner" or "evil-dooers"(is that how u spell that?) Hmmmm....i wonder if u tried reporting the actual news u might actually know more than john edwards being gay...(is he really a fag...man hes cute)
  • KFM · 2 years ago
Kinda a dumb post. Apparently the "new breed" of conservative doesn't know much about the first amendment.

Whether the media tars-and-feathers Ann Coulter for her gratuitous and unnecessary remarks is utterly irrelevant to free speech. Unless it's PB-freaking-S, then it ain't state action.
  • dale · 2 years ago
I am from close to robbins n.c where John Edwards claims a childhood link. Besides having a hard time finding anyone who remembers him I will exercise my free speech rights and those that do say he was a LITTLE Faggot

Why does the media (and Public for that matter) not question our elected officials on past crimes and indiscretions? We have a congress woman, Heather Wilson, here in New Mexico who has a whole list of poor choices (i.e, illegally removing her husband from a sex offender list, selling favors to lobbyists, and pressuring prosecutors to prosecute for political purposes) The list goes on and on and nobody ever asks her about it.
  • OhHolyKnight · 1 year ago
Wow, UC. You've done it again! Nice!

I can't even begin to tell you the amount of flaws in that ridiculous blog of yours. Let's start at your cracker-head comment though. You said liberals hate capitalism. That would be wrong--I am liberal, I like capitalism. Case in point. You seem to think everyone with a different thought process than you (ie., a working thought process) is wrong, and everyone wrong is a liberal, and everyone liberal is a communist. Jesus Christ man! (Oh sorry, forgot that name was sacred) Get with the times! Your ignorance of issues and facts continues to astound me!

2nd, you say you're not a fan of free speech. Honestly? Holy shit, man. You have no idea how stupid you are coming off in this blog. You really don't like free speech? So I suppose totalitarian states would more fit your bill? Nazi Germany? Soviet Russia? Where dissidence is not tolerated and opponents are thrown in jail, if they're lucky? THOSE are worlds without free speech. Without free speech, you get thrown in jail if you do not agree with what the government says. And THAT's what you say you support. Holy shit, man. Just, wow.

Third, Anne Coulter was not "joking." She is an extremely far-flung conservative who says INCREDIBLY inappropriate things. She took a Hitler speech and changed the word "Jew" to "Liberal" and then said the speech. She is not joking. She may be saying some of these things just to get publicity, but she certainly believes what she says. So when she says something hateful and derogatory like that, it is what she actually believes.

Look at where our society has come to. Gay and faggot are commonplace subsitutes for "stupid" and other negative words. Tell me, you ass hole, why being gay is such a bad thing? What the fuck do you care if a man loves another man? I'm not gay, but who am I to question one human being's love for another one? Just cus your damn bible says gay sex is wrong you have to automatically condemn every homosexual as a devil-worshiper? So WHAT if someone's gay! Let them! How does it affect you in ANY way? If they start having anal sex in the street, THEN I'll understand if you get upset. But if a guy and a girl start getting it on in public, you'd be pissed too. And if you're not, then YOU are presenting your own double standard, in which you have no place at all to complain about liberal double standards.

And about that, liberals have only as many double standards as Christians do, in fact less. Christians follow the Bible, which itself sets countless double standards and hypocrisies. So conservatives get confused and don't know what to follow, setting up countless double standards in the process. And you are just as guilty of the freedom of speech hypocrisy as we are. So don't even start down that road.

You quoted a bunch of stupid liberal quotes. But that's not wise either, because I could come here guns a-blazing with my own set of conservative idiocies, NOT including those uttered by GWB. So for your own good, don't go down that road. There ARE stupid liberals out there. You are not talking to one right now.

As for your little sense of humor, I think it's plain to see you weren't joking. You hate it when liberals speak their minds because you think we are all "uninformed." You legitimately do hate liberal free speech. You're too dumb to function if you think you're actually capable of passing that off as a joke.

† Christ be with you. Amen.

Ron Paul is not liberal, also he did not say what you have misquoted him as saying, shouldn't you do some research before posting?
